“Jonathan’s Inability To Contain His Violent, Divisive, And Semi Illeterate Wife, Dame Jonathan”

Many Nigerians have often been driven to anger, despair and resignation with the apparent leader of our country’s inability to be a leader in his own home. While Nigerians have been used to some overreaching ladies who exceeded their role in government, Dame Jonathan appears to have taken the role of the first lady to another level by directly usurping the powers and roles of the President of Nigeria on many occasions

Nigerians have watched helplessly as our grammatically challenged first lady continue to live up to her favorite saying ‘na we be govt’. Despite not having any constitutional role, or constitutional budgetary allocation, our Dame Jonathan has gradually stripped the trousers off our president in broad daylight, and put them on in public while our clueless president smiled for the cameras.

patience jonathan2In one unprecedented move after another, Dame Jonathan has demonstrated that she is the one in charge of our government and not our democratically elected Jonathan Goodluck and for this reason Jonathan Must Go!

Worse, not only has Dame Jonathan usurped the powers she was not given by law, she has turned herself into a public menace for ministers, governors and opposition parties.

Not only does the wife of Jonathan Goodluck talk down our government ministers and threaten them at will, she also has an annoying habit of intimidating and attacking several elected governors. In one occasion she actually snatched the microphone from a sitting government and gave him a dressing down in public.

It appears that Dame Jonathan may be the great undoing of Jonathan Goodluck as many Nigerians appear to have tired of her public tantrums and violent speeches and are ready to vote Jonathan out if only to spare themselves another 4 years of the loud-mouthed 1st lady

Recently, the highly respected freedom fighter and Nobel laureate had cause to publicly call Dame Jonathan to order while accusing her of “being used by her husband” to destabilize Rivers State.

Soyinka described Dame Jonathan as “a mere domestic appendage of power” who depends on state security apparatus to intimidate. In very strong words, he said, “Be a lady before being a First Lady. In fact you can’t be a First Lady without first being a lady. Is she the first 1st Lady we’ve had? The vulgarity has become intolerable. We’ve now reached the bottom of obscenity…”

Some of the memorable incidents of the Tragi-Comedy featuring our 1st lady over the last 4 years include:

DAME’S ACTIONS FOLLOWING THE CHIBOK GIRL KIDNAPPING – We all remember the Chibok Girls incident where she took it upon herself to exercise the powers of the Presidency by ordering government officials to attend her belated fact-finding and brainstorming meeting over the kidnapping. She also usurped the powers of the Presidency by unilaterally calling a press conference over a national matter. Not only that, she had the temerity to attack elected government officials, and then threaten them with civil action if they did not do her bidding over the matter. She did all this while the president and his advisers were looking on in bemusement.

MEDDLING IN GOVERNANCE OF STATES AND AT FEDERAL LEVEL – The first Lady’s penchant for annoying and unconstitutional meddling in the affairs of state by the first Lady has become legendary in only 6 years in the saddle. From getting governors removed for not doing her bidding, to open exchange of words with sitting Governors in places like Rivers and Bayelsa, Mrs. Jonathan has proved she was too much for her husband and Nigeria to handle. Despite not having any constitutional role, she routinely summons governors to Abuja for meetings the way a military head of state will summon an ADC. In Bayelsa, she went on public venues to declare how useless the elected governor was and why he must be removed – before election season even started! Right now she is on an embarrassing war of words with Govt Amaechi and the Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka who made the mistake of calling her to order.

At the federal level, everyone with connections or business with aso rock knew that if you really want to get anything done, you have to go through the office of the first lady or your project is doomed from the start. She has effectively become the President with her husband as V-P while Namadi Sambo the official V-P is basically invisible in the order of things.

THE CAMPAIGN CALL FOR BLOODSHED – She publicly told her supporters at a public rally to ‘stone to death’ anybody who talks t0 them about change. This shocking call to violence by our first lady has actually landed her in the cross-hairs of the International Crimes Commission [I.C.C] who have notified her that they have started criminal investigations into her activities and utterances during the 2015 election campaigns. The quiet whispers right now is that our tiresome first lady may end up as jail mate of the infamous Mrs. Gbagbo of Ivory Coast who was recently sentenced to 20 years jail term for her own election shenanigans.. We don’t want to see our sitting president hauled off to jail so we must vote out Jonathan in March 28th so she can go server her jail sentence as a private citizen once she is convicted of electoral violence.

EMBARRASING GRAMATICAL ERRORS ON WORLD STAGE OPENING NIGERIANS TO RIDICULE – People expect 1s Lady of a country to comport herself with decorum and speak good English as an ambassador of a proud nation like Nigeria. Alas, it appears our first lady not only does not see anything wrong in public displays of tantrums, she also insists on opening her mouth at every occasion to speak, though her English is no better than that of a mediocre primary school graduate. Here are some of the more memorable quotes of the wife of a President who is asking us to vote him in for a second term:

  • “My Husband and Sambo is a good people”
  • “The President was once a Child and the Senators were once a Children”
  • “My Fellow Widows”
  • “A Good Mother takes care of his Children”
  • “The people sitting before you here were once a Children”
  • “Yes we are all happy for the effort, it is not easy to carry second in an international competition like this one – Addressing Press men after Female Under 19 Fifa World Cup”
  • “The Bombers who born them? Wasn’t it not a woman? They were once a Children now a adult now they are bombing women and children making some children a widow”
  • “My Heart feels sorry for these Children who have become Widows by losing their Parents for one reason or another”
  • “We should have love for our fellow Nigerians irrespective of their NATIONALITY?”
  • “vote UMBLERRA and press your finger for UMBLERRA”.

The REAL sayings of our first lady sound worse than fiction and most Nigerians are simply tired of this tragi-comedy. We say no to 4 more years of mediocrity. Jonathan and his semi illiterate wife must go!
