CHANGE ACTUALIZATION AND THE NEED FOR CHANGE VIGILANTES

By on April 30, 2015

Against all odds, and against most predictions by political observers, Nigeria recently conducted a peaceful and orderly Presidential Elections, where for the first time in Nigerian History the loser congratulated the Winner, once it became clear who was going to win the elections, even BEFORE all the votes are even counted.

For the first time too, we had a Presidential Election where everything was concluded without post-election violence, or the traditional expensive and unnecessary court challenges, to the expressed will of the people through the ballot box. Indeed ALL Nigerians have something to be really proud of regardless of our preference at the concluded elections.

Also perhaps for the first time in Nigerian history, many people who ordinarily would not be involved in politics got involved because of the promise of CHANGE and a pledge by the now President elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to run a clean government that will be devoid of corruption and that will be people based

Now that the much touted CHANGE in government that most Nigerians clamored for has been achieved through the ballot box, all Nigerians now have a stake to ensure that the change promised by President Elect Buhari, and other new leaders all over the country, is not aborted and hijacked by the same old forces and same old attitudes to service that has crippled our effectiveness as a nation

change vigilantes togetherTHIS IS THE TIME FOR US TO REMAIN VIGILANT AS EVER TO CONTINUE DEFENDING THE CHANGE MANDATE UNTIL TRUE POSITIVE CHANG IS ACHIEVED

That is why some of us who are not professional politicians, but who believe that we must seize this moment as a nation to achieve breakthrough in good governance has formed together to form the CHANGE VIGILLANTES ORGANIATION [CVI]

The main goal of CVI is to ensure that our politicians deliver on the promise of good governance they promised us. We all have a collective duty to hold our esteemed President’s feet to the fire to ensure he is not allowed to derail from his genuine goodwill to move Nigeria forward. We will examine every action and every pronouncement of the Government and support it with all our resources if they are in line with the positive change promised but opposed it with everything at our disposal if it tends towards political business as usual

Ever conscious that one of the greatest un-doings of the Jonathan Administration was the lack of sincere critics within the government who would tell the government the truth to its face, we will use all the access we have to let Baba know when he is diverging from his own vows of taking this country out of the dog-house. As Change Vigilantes, our primary responsibility is to the greater good of Nigeria even as we remain unapologetic Buharists to the core. We will mobilize in support of our President. We will defend the goodwill of our president against all foes, within and without. We will give him the benefit of the doubt even when things first appear out of sync. BUT we will never be sycophants. We will never excuse actions that are inimical to the growth of our nation and we will never let the government get too comfortable with itself to the point of forgetting the whole point of the Change Revolution.

So, if you want to join the CHANGE VIGILANTES ORGANIZATION and help us help the Government take Nigeria forward to its rightful place in the world where good government and progressive policies becomes common place in our land, please go to www.changevigilantes.com and register as a member.
